Most of the areas highlighted below are accessible by major highways, or by the I-Ride Trolley (407-354-5656) that traverses International Drive every 15 minutes (you can board for 75 cents).

Belz Designer Outlet Centre

5401 W. Oak Ridge Road at International Drive. In this upscale shopping center, 45 designer outlets showcase fashions by such famous makers as Ann Taylor, Donna Karan and Jones New York. Open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Belz Factory Outlet World – Orlando

5401 W. Oak Ridge Road at International Drive. Belz Factory Outlet World –—Orlando includes two malls and four annex buildings that offer top-quality brand-name merchandise at discount prices. The more than 170 factory-direct outlets feature men’s and women’s sportswear, athletic shoes, footwear, crystal, china, watches, cameras, children’s wear and more. Open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Crossroads of Lake Buena Vista

I-4 and S.R. 535, exit 68. The conveniently located Crossroads of Lake Buena Vista center includes a variety of specialty shops featuring everything from casual clothing, footwear and sunglasses to environmental art and more, all situated along brick-paved walkways. There are 11 popular restaurants, plus Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf and the 24-hour, gourmet Gooding’s Supermarket. Shops open daily, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; restaurant hours vary.

Downtown Disney Marketplace

Exit I-4 at S.R. 535 (exit 68) and follow the signs. Adjacent to Pleasure Island, the Downtown Disney Marketplace comprises more than 20 unique shops that feature children’s and adults’ clothing, jewelry, toys, pins and the largest collection of Disney character merchandise in the world. An afternoon of shopping can be topped off with a snack or meal at one of nine nearby restaurants. Open daily, 9:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Free parking and admission.

Festival Bay

On International Drive, bounded by Florida Turnpike and I-4. With a created waterfront as its focal point, Festival Bay consists of a series of interconnected walkways and plazas that form districts blending the eclectic qualities of Florida lifestyle with the lush landscaping and architecture of the Caribbean. Anchor tenants include Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World and Cinemark USA’s 20-screen megaplex theaters and Vans Skatepark, with new anchor stores, signature restaurants and an outdoor amusement park coming soon.

The Florida Mall

8001 S. Orange Blossom Trail. The Florida Mall, Orlando’s largest shopping attraction, offers an array of more than 250 shops, eateries and seven department stores (including Saks Fifth Avenue, Dillard’s and Burdines, with Nordstrom, JCPenney, Sears and Lord & Taylor. Mention this editorial to a Guest Services Representative and receive a free coupon book filled with valuable discounts and savings. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Lakeland Square

3800 Hwy. 98 North. Lakeland Square hosts five leading department stores — Belk, Burdines, Dillard’s North and South, JCPenney and Sears — and more than 130 specialty shops, including Gap, Bath & Body Works, Victoria’s Secret and Old Navy. Shoppers will also find a variety of international flavors in the Treats Food Court. Open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 5:30 p.m.

The Mall at the Millenia

4200 Conroy Road, one mile north of the intersection at I-4 and Florida’s turnpike. This mall opens in October 2002. Anchored by Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s, this center features five million square feet with six restaurants, 12 eateries and ample parking. Other stores included are Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., and McCormick & Schmick.

The Marketplace

7600 Dr. Phillips Boulevard, one-half mile west of International Drive and I-4. The Marketplace, a lively outdoor shopping center, offers a well-rounded selection of shops, restaurants and services, including infants’ clothing, two food markets, two beauty salons and a dentist. Open daily; shop and restaurant hours vary. Free parking available.

Market Street at Celebration

Take I-4 to U.S. 192 E., exit 64A. Disney’s unique venture combines a charming collection of shops (featuring gifts, men’s and women’s apparel, jewelry and more), five acclaimed restaurants and a variety of services in a lakeview environment with distinctive ambience. Shops are open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 6 p.m.

The Mercado

8445 S. International Drive/(407) 345-9337. Within walking distance of several hotels along International Drive, The Mercado’s more than 60 specialty shops feature licensed Disney memorabilia, jewelry, electronics and clothing. There are also six distinctive restaurants and an English pub set amid the charming Mediterranean-village-style ambience. Open 10 a.m. daily; extended restaurant and bar hours. There’s plenty of free parking available in this open-air complex.

Orlando Fashion Square Mall

3201 E. Colonial Drive. Fresh contemporary decor and skylights give Orlando Fashion Square its warm Southern ease and cosmopolitan style. Burdines, JCPenney, Dillard’s and Sears, as well as 165 specialty shops and the Veranda Cafe Food Court, await you. Open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Orlando Premium Outlets

8200 Vineland Ave. in Vineland Village. Orlando Premium Outlets offers a wide range of designer labels and name-brand merchandise at savings of 25% to 65% every day. Among the 110 outlet stores are Banana Republic Factory Store, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Ermenegildo Zegna, Guess, Nautica, Nike Factory Store, Tommy Hilfiger and Versace. Open Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Park Avenue

From the attractions, take Interstate 4 east through downtown Orlando. Take the Fairbanks Avenue exit and keep right (east). You'll travel approximately 3 miles to the intersection at the south end of Park Avenue. Located in the heart of Winter Park, Park Avenue is an elegant street lined with upscale shops, eateries and galleries. You’ll find everything from ice cream parlors to a gallery of Tiffany glass windows, all located along tree-shaded avenues and in secluded courtyards. Store hours vary. Street, garage and lot parking available.

Pointe*Orlando

9101 International Drive. This bi-level complex, adjacent to the Orange County Convention Center, offers a wide variety of unique shopping, dining and entertainment choices, including Muvico Pointe 21 Theaters, FAO Schwarz, Armani Exchange, Disney Worldport, LuLu’s Bait Shack, Zales, Banana Republic and more. Ample parking available.

Winter Park Village

500 N. Orlando Ave. Winter Park Village is an inviting urban environment that’s perfectly suited to the Winter Park community’s discerning tastes. The strong lineup of national restaurants and retailers includes Regal Cinemas (with 20 screens), Albertson’s Village Market, Pier One Imports, Ann Taylor Loft, P. F.
